The airplane disappeared from Radar about 60km (25 mi) from Ukraine–Russia border near Hrabove in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. There are unverified reports with some certainty that the flight was shot down with a surface to air missile while flying through the conflict ridden Ukraine Russia border.
